Yes! I so wish I could go to VANCAF. I have a friend who always goes and it would have been fun to do a small trip over from the island and meet people and bask in comics. Curse le COVID!!!!

I guess watercolour is technically time consuming, but I found some good work arounds to speed up the process (hot press paper that dries quicker, india ink for line art, so I can paint over it cleanly, a bit of mix media with paint pens for fine details so I don't have to bother with masking fluid). I tried making comics digitally several years ago and I actually found it took more time and I liked the process/results less. I'm just not a digital artist, and realizing that freed me up to make the kind of comics I wanted. I still love looking at good digital art, but I just don't get the same rush doing it that I get from opening up paint and markers and ink, so why bother fighting it?
