Finished the holiday baking!

Well... It's finished, but I think next time, I will brush and paint the icing on. Piping takes too much time. So, anyone else finished their holiday baking? Mine consisted of my absolutely bananas bread, shortbread and no eggs or dairy gingerbread (you've got to have it for Christmas).

Plus, I am actually curious and intrigued about what people eat for the non-Christmas holidays around this year? What are the special goodies?

We're probably going to bake some Christmas cookies (in the shape of a snowman, maybe!), and a pumpkin pie! Both are pretty simple, so maybe I should try to make something a little more ambitious

Christmas baking for me happens pretty much during all month, as soon as the temperature drops (baking is an excuse to keep the house warm). My parents have a walnut tree in the backyard so walnuts go in pretty much all baked stuff :3 Still have to prepare some lebkuchen (it is kinda like the American gingerbread) and maybe panetone if I'm inspired enough.

Sounds like we are too far to swap cookies :C

ususlly I'll bake chocolate chip or sugar cookies but no fancy shapes since we havent got any cookie cutters. when anyone fors make cake its either some variety of chocolate, red velvet, or pineapple upside-down cake. i tried to make tosca cake, its like a pound cake with glaze and sliced almonds on top, but it didnt turn out as well as id hoped

i think well probably go with plain sugar cookies for Christmas this year but maybe jazz it up come 2019

I plan to do sugar cookies for Easter. I want them to look like flowers.

Lamb for Easter, marinated and basted only in rosemary infused olive oil and roasted. Unfortunately we never have enough money for me to do a whole rack of lamb, so if you don't get your chop quickly, you'll be stuck eating ham instead.

For St. Patrick's Day, we usually have a big fish fry at my church, and I go to that.

December 12 is also a big deal at my church, there being a huge Mexican population, and it being the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We've celebrated with various kinds of pan dulce washed down with horchata or hot chocolate, whatever our druthers.

I have a small orchard and a berry patch, and with Independence Day falling during the cherry and raspberry harvest, better believe we'll have raspberry and cherry pie.

And that says nothing about our Christmas fare. Before I got sick, I used to make Guinness cake for Christmas. My family in Germany sometimes sends over Stollen, although I just found a good recipe I might have my daughter try for next Christmas. (Stollen has to age a while before it's perfect.)

My mother-in-law, who's only second generation Norwegian-American, usually has a get-together with my kids to make krumkake, which we customarily serve on Christmas Day with whipped cream and lingonberries.
