The first episode of my work is one I've spent the most time thinking and writing. It took two months to actually start writing it and since then, I've thought time and again if I want to rewrite it. So far, I've only patched it up once entirely and I wonder if it's enough for someone to feel engaged.
If you haven't seen it, this is my work:( It is not a novel. It's only placed there because it doesn't place in the comic category. It's at a middle ground between a screenplay, a comic script and a novel )
The first part of the episode is intentional. (I'm saying this because that's what is probably going to cause the complaints) I will keep it in because it kind of shows how some parts will be written. And because I was like-'I'll defy every known trope and established formula' when I decided to make the first chapter like this.
It does what I wanted it to:
1. an epic line to start it (though I turned it into a joke)
2. show Isamu and Mareo's friendship( a little, at least)
3. make Isamu and that silhouette girl meet
4. show how I was going to write. Lots and lots of dialogue, minimal description and weird things that make sense in my mind that I hope would work in words.
and
5. jokes in between the dialogue that I PRAY are funny( oh gosh do I hope that the jokes land )
But somewhere, I feel that people might just click off after they read it. I've spent so many hours studying how to write it, thinking about what to include and trying to write it as well as I can but I can't but feel a little anxious.
If there are any kind people of my holy grounds of the tapas forum who could help, I'd love to hear what you have to say. And finally end the question for me: "Rewrite or not?"
