Hey everyone! This isn't a "how to get commissions" masterpost by any means, cause i'm sure there's plenty of other methods! This is just to highlight an awesome subreddit I found recently.
TL;DR: Have a look through this page; anything with [Hiring] in the title means somebody is looking for an artist (paid), and you're also free to post your own work there with [For Hire] to let people know you're looking for work.
The jobs could be anything from a social media icon to a full blown digital painting or book series of illustrations! I found and completed two jobs in my first day of browsing there, and new posts usually go up every day! I'd never even used reddit before this, but I find myself checking here every day.
I found this page in a video for "how to get art commissions". The video went over the fact that most of us would make a "Commissions open!" post with pictures, prices, and a paypal link, then wait. Right? I know that's how I usually do things - but it can be so agonising just waiting for people to find you, HOPING someone who stumbles upon your post is actively looking for a commission.
By going out of your way to actively seek people looking for artists, instead of waiting for them to come to you, you're guaranteed to find more work and be able to support yourself with your art! I wish everyone the best with their job hunting and commissions and hope some of you find some neat success on there! I'll include the video that I found this from if anyone wants to give props or check out their other methods/suggestions.
