Getting creepy comments on another webcomic hosting platform

If someone is making you uncomfortable, block them. It doesn't matter if he'd be the only person to comment on your comic, or if he's a famous creator if you don't want to upload your comic on this platform and feel gross because of him. Maybe take it to the mods if you think he's way out of line.

But I will also say that he doesn't know your character is based on you, so he's making a comment about a character and you should do your best to not associate yourself with a character. I know a lot of us do have those smaller or bigger self-inserts, but first and foremost you should remember that you created a character and sent it to be a part of the internet - it's inevitable that people will make different kinds of comments and you should do your best for this to not offend you (which still includes the fact you can and probably should blacklist him).

I don't have any advice other than to say I get where you're coming from, to a degree. My lead character is heavily based on my own daughters and I have gotten some very weird comments once in a while. Fortunately they're rare and not on Tapas.

Don't worry about blocking him if he makes you uncomfortable. You will get other commenters eventually, hopefully less weird ones. The internet is a very big pond and there are other fish.

The only reason I was unsure is because I thought I was overreacting, but I just went through a newer stack of comments he left and am probably going to block and or report him. I've even stated that my character is a minor so he definitely knows what he's doing.

I'm definitely taking it up with the site mods, I've already stated that my character is supposed to be a minor, and the fact that's he's made so many weird and disgusting comments about her makes me feel very disturbed. I'll definitely take your and everyone elses advice on this.

I'd definitely love it when someone fangirls or fanboys over any of my OCs. Even sexual comments I don't care. That's their business. It's happened before. And I'm not reporting anyone for "creepy" comments on any of my OCs.

I haven't actually seen that person's comments, so I won't comment too much on it.

From your description, it seems like he probably genuinely fell in love with this character. But I'm not sure if he knows that this character was created based on the author as a prototype.

Of course, if he wrote too many overly explicit thoughts and comments about the character's author (you), it's completely understandable that you would feel uncomfortable.

If his past comments were still friendly and not overly aggressive, you could try telling him that you don't like this and ask him not to do it anymore.

If communication doesn't work, then just block him. I don't think it's necessary to give up the entire website because of one person.

They don't have a block option, I went through their help desk and they basically just prompt you to either just delete comments or talk to the user who's making you uncomfortable and tell them you want them to stop, and that you should only get the admins involved if the user in question ignores your requests. I feel that's pretty bad moderation on their part...

I just deleted all of his creepy comments (I however to screenshots just in case I need them) I'm hoping that'll get him to stop because I really don't want to talk to him.

I wouldn't really care if he had a crush on any of my adult OCs, but he's saying creepy sexual stuff about my OC that's supposed to be about 15 years old...

I have screenshots of his comments, he doesn't know that I based my character on teenage me, but he does know that she's supposed to be a minor as he left a comment asking if "water came in beer cans" because my character was holding a can of soda. I commented along the lines with "she's a minor, so no"

One of the earliest creepy comments was a few updates after the "beer can" comment, he mentioned her hips and used the term "hubba," which I didn't understand what that had to do with the comic I posted. He then later acknowledged the he wondered if my character would be interested in him even though he's "twice her age" and later on he claimed that she's his "dream girl" which is really creepy because, like I said she's supposed to be a minor.

Sadly I'm unable to block anyone on that website as, there's literally no block option, you are actually supposed to delete comments or talk it over with the person before contacting the admins, you are only supposed to contact them if the user in question isn't listing to you and continuously harassing you. To me it's pretty odd that you can't just block someone on there, it makes me feel like I don't really want to upload on there anymore, but I don't really want to be chased off of a platform that I did enjoy just because someone decided to be creepy about one of my OCs.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I just deleted his creepy comments, I do have all the screenshots though, it probably wasn't a good idea to do that but I couldn't stand seeing the notifications in my inbox, as well as under my comics, I fear that if I just leave them up, it'll prompt him to comment like that more.

That's not a great setup, so you should talk to him. If he ignores you, you've got reason to get the admins in

Is there an actual reason to stay on the site though? How many people are engaging with the comic there? Is it more than on your other platforms?

Unless you block him on all platforms, he could still appear on those platforms. This is why I don't think it's necessary to give up that website. I agree with what @Stargazer31 said - try communicating with him first, and if that doesn't work, then take the next step.

That's probably what I'm gonna do, they have a DM option on the site, so I'm probably going to send him one stating that I appreciate his comments but I don't feel comfortable with him making inappropriate comments about my underage OC.

I get the same amount of traction on there as I do here, maybe just a bit more then here. I also just like how easy it is to upload pages and customize my comic profile. Another reason why I want to stay on there is because I was also featured in an article on there, which is something that no other comic site has done for me. So I really don't want to leave the site because of one creepy person. I have already blocked him on other sites, as he linked his comic socials on his profile.

I'm probably just going to politely inform him that I appreciate that he likes my comics, but I don't really feel comfortable with him making inappropriate comments about my underage character, and if he refuses to listen I'm gonna contact the mods.
