Give me comic recommendations!

hey y'all! this is my first time posting on the forums, so my apologies if this isn't the appropriate place to ask, but now that i'm on summer break i'm in the mood to read new comics! however, beyond just looking through the bookmarks of other comic authors i admire, i don't really have much strategy as to finding new comics i want to read, so i was hoping some of y'all could help!

for reference, my current tapas reading list is here, and to list some webcomics i enjoy outside of tapas there is melodica, two slices, shootaround, this is not fiction, sakana, etc.

some things i like in comics are:

• paranormal and cryptid things, especially things where ghosts and such are main characters
• things focusing on trauma/dealing with abuse/mental illness/neurodivergence
• interesting character designs & art styles/art experimentation!
• lgbt characters (honestly, it might seem silly but as an lgbt person with so little media representation outside of smaller scale things like webcomics, i don't really tend to hold interest in much media unless it has lgbt characters or is entirely devoid of themes like sexuality to begin with)
• on that note, cheesy lgbt romance stories are always one of my biggest guilty pleasures
• also just fluffy slice of life stuff in general
• historical fiction
• i really can enjoy any genre, although when it comes to scifi/fantasy i am more drawn to stories that put more thought into worldbuilding, but thats not necessary
• focus on character development

and then a list of other interests i don't really expect out of most any comics but would be really cool to see?: birds (especially pigeons), witchcraft (not just fantasy but like the actual practice of it), astral travel/the astral plane, linguistics, fashion (especially weird/bad fashion), political theory, leftism, lichen and bryophytes? sorry those are really specific but some of my biggest interests so yeah!

i also speak spanish and can understand an okay amount of italian and arabic if theres any comics that are only available in other languages that you might recommend.

Yo. You would probably really like my comic, Heart Hex. We got witches, demons, cute Latinxs, various LGBT characters and some heavy subjects such as mental illness, morality, and handling death. Warning, it does get a little NSFW and gory at times, but those are always tagged.

Other things you should probably read:

Jet Black (written by a cool friend of my from college who's art style is amazing), about a teen pop idol in the early 90s and a grunge girl who steals her food.

Threader - just finished the prologue and it's a really awesome scifi/fantasy mashup! From what the creator's said, there are lgbt characters in it.

Seriously that comic has everything you mentioned, including the other interests. The only thing that isn't as strong there is politics, but there's a lot of war happening in the Demon World, which includes some of that.

ok I got comic Hollow Creek https://tapas.io/series/H-C it has witches , demons , ghost and sort of a mental illness (Luke's childhood trauma) and a dead body still working on the chapters it will be a bit slow still trying

have you read rainboots and mandrake roots? i think its on hiatus rn but its this gorgeous comic abt a witch and a dragon-human in an american suburb. the magic takes a lot from real life witchcraft which i love.

i highly recommend Dead End it's really cool and got everything you like about comics except for fluffy slice of life and historical fiction. the main character is a 'girl' who's half human half demon and resides in purgatory with his dog. i love the art

Main character has mental illness. Especially if you wouldnt mind reading the first few chapters of this comic which is poorly drawn in comparison to recent pages. His parents are physically and emotionally abusive... also had to put up with bullies in school. That's just for starters...

Other illnesses covered are split personality, PTSD, etc.

political theory

if you listen to the likes of Alex Jones, Coast to Coast AM, David Icke, etc... you'd like this comic. I personally am a slightly left leaning libertarian. Right wing on all issues except on socialist healthcare and gay marriage.

if you dont mind me self plugging my comic SPIRE is lgbt focused with a cast of vampires as the main focus, it's sci fi/fantasy/adventure and has a gay trans man as a lead and a lot of neurodivergent characters. romance and lgbt themes dont drive the comic since the romance it does have is very slow burn but it still comes into play for character development.

Oh, there's some killer work mentioned here!~ For an awesome, highly stylish paranormal lgbta+, I can't recommend @oneeyedrobot's series:

Conduit | Tapas

It is character-driven with a plot that covers the complexity of handling and processing trauma/mental illness and has a super addictive pacing rarely seen in webcomics. Can't recommend it enough!

For something along those lines but more down-to-earth, I also adore Mita's series:

Sabers | Tapas

Amazingly refreshing art style and characters with the most sublimely distinctive personalities. The designs are something else and yo, the interpersonal structure between the main characters is beyond enthralling. LOVE this series!

Seiyuu CRUSH! is a silly/serious drama about some gay adults. It's a binge read and the first chapters move slower, but we've picked up momentum and I really love what my writer/partner has got for the latest & upcoming scenes.

For other comics to recommend, there's:
Title Unrelated - has an LGBT cast & an alternate world of nonbinary people with some nefarious behind-the-scenes workings yet to be revealed
Stand Still Stay Silent - merges post-apocalypse with Scandinavian mythology magic and has fun characters and no romance.
