I´ve been to Mexico a couple of times. Tijuana & Mexico City.
Mexico City was the wildest crowd I ever played for.
Tijuana was, for me as a german country boy, like being
in a movie. I walked with over the american-mexican border
with an upright bass and that´s like a picture that stays
in my head. 2 hours later I was sitting in the outskirts of
TJ eating pinto beans and meat cooked by the mother of
the guy who booked us

There's always a good chance you'll get fed by an older Mexican lady when you visit, haha. If you're hired for a gig it's almost a sure thing you'll get fed by whoever hired you and if it's a party you're taking leftovers home.

It's been ages since I was in Mexico City or Tijuana, but I do remember how different the vibes were in each one. I'm from Merida, which is way over on the tip of Mexico and a lot less busy, but very tourist heavy.

Yeah, TJ and Mexico City couldn´t be more different.
The air pollution in Mexico City was wild but I enjoyed
everything else. I found mexican people in general very
hospitable and friendly
