I'm gonna keep it a bit short unless people want me to go in detail.
JoJo's bizzare adventure big flaws (from what I remember. I need to experience parts 5 and especially 6 again):
- Araki tends to forget plot details/character powers early on which creates plot holes or pointless plot elements
- The character writing doesn't get good until part 4 and it doesn't get truly good until part 7 (which i consider to be the best in the series)
- Most of Part 3
- Later parts have the "same face" issue. Part 8 got a little better with this though.
What works about it:
- Switching protagonists and genres helps to spice up the ongoing narrative of the Joestar family and makes it feel like you have something to look forward to if you have a part you don't like as much
- The artwork is constantly improving...I mean...
look at this
- The stand power system is probably one of the most interesting and creative battle systems ever created
This guy explains it better than I can.
I wish I had more time to explain a bit more but I guess its not too big of a deal. There are a ton of people who could elaborate on this better than I ever can. Its a perfect expression of what makes us human with some very entertaining, strategic fights with some entertaining characters (and in later parts become very well written).
And if any jojo fans were curious on my rankings (excluding part 8):
7>4>2>6>5>1>3
Maybe I'll make a better post about FMA 2003 when I have time.
