Well, I could NOT find "Graveyard Shift" by Richard Matheson anywhere, and it's a damned shame a lot more of his short stories aren't available. This man's story craft rivals the likes of Roddenberry, Dick, and King.

But I will include here, which is available, "The Professor's Teddy Bear", which is sure to prove just as terrifying. Theo Sturgeon, no too well known for gut-wrenching horror, blows the house down with this one.

I liked Train to Busan too and The Conjuring series. I think the first one (in the haunted house) freaked me out the most.

There's a TV series called Paranormal Witness (and there's another similar one available for free on YouTube called Paranormal Survivor; people pretty much recount their supernatural experiences). I saw an interview with the real family from The Conjuring and some of their testimony was even scarier than in the film. They talked about their experience in detail, especially other disturbing events in the house that weren't included in the movie.

Goosebumps! It's been a while. I remember getting box sets for Christmas from my parents and reading through the whole thing over the holiday break.

Junji Ito - legend is absolutely correct. The way he draws is so unsettling, especially the eyes. Characters don't even need to speak and (usually lol) look perfectly human but you can still tell there's something deeply wrong about them. I'm going to check out Usamaru Furuya. It's cool that even though Halloween isn't celebrated where you are, you still got a taste of it. Halloween or not, as long as you're having fun, it's a win.

I hear about spirits in bathrooms or bedrooms quite a bit. Some cultures believe mirrors can be used as conduits or portals for spirits to come through from the "other side". For example, some cultures cover the mirrors in their home if loved one passes away in the house, believing that their soul can be "trapped" in them if they don't. Found this interesting. What do you think?

Yep, one of those stories that grabs you and doesn't let go, even at the end... the ending still makes me shake.

You've introduced a lot of new things here, thanks for the links! Always looking for scary stuff and especially exploring horror outside of the Western world.

Vampire sounds like a good choice! They're usually very wealthy, too. I guess it's a lot easier to become rich with an infinite amount of time, lol.

Your creepy experience sounds pretty scary. I read something similar on another site a few days ago.

A British person went to visit his home country of Somalia for two years. His uncle had a lot of properties and assets, including a herd of camels. One of his cousins had the job of protecting them overnight from hyenas, so he always brought a rifle to work with him. Very late that night they heard bizarre, not-quite-human laughter and lots of running (something between a creature with 2 feet, then 4 repeatedly), even though there nothing around but a bush. Even after firing a warning shot, nothing changed (and hyenas are very cowardly, they usually run when there's loud noises). Then there was a horrible stench and the laughter grew louder. The camels were freaking out. They began praying until the laughter stopped but the camels did not stop screaming until sunrise. They thought it may have been a djinn (which my Muslim friends tell me about, too).

This one completely slipped my mind, Margaret St. Clair weaves a frightening little tale, "The Boy Who Predicted Earthquakes".

So captivated by the story was Rod Serling, that he demanded it be filmed as an episode for "The Night Gallery" in the early 1970s.

"Eumenides on the Fourth Floor Lavatory" - Orson Scott Card

Yes! THAT Orson Scott Card, the man who brought us "Enders Game" and other delights. This story clearly is one of the most disturbing you'll ever read. It sneaks up on you at first, and then wrenches reality away in a few pages. It is disgusting but oh so satisfying if you're a horror fan looking for intensely creepy suspense - with an ending that might make you want to scream...

And...check your bathroom.. because well, you never know....

I don't have much experience with zombie movies, but I still have to agree lol That movie was great; both thrilling and emotional. The ending got me bawling my eyes out.

Ohh, I think I've heard that TV Series, but never watch it. Sounds interesting. It's crazy to be reminded that the movie was based on real experience and that there are even more disturbing things. Definitely will check the YT version. I usually only watch Buzzfeed Unsolved for horror stuffs lol since I prefer crime stuffs.

True, there's something inhumanly human about the way Junji Ito draws, it's terrifying how he can convey so much terror even in a single drawing. Absolute legend.

I hear about spirits in bathrooms and bedrooms a lot, too. My religion actually has specific prayers for entering and leaving bathroom (I personally don't use it a lot though). There's also a believe that rooms or houses that have been left vacant for months will be occupied with spirits, and that every time we enter the room, we'll have to greet the "occupant" as we're considered the guest there. It becomes such a habit that when I enter my own bedroom after months of being away, I'd greet them and be really polite for a few days.

I've never heard of mirrors "trapping" the souls, but I definitely have heard a lot of supernatural stuffs surrounding mirrors, like Bloody Mary, for example. There are also games of hide and seek with spirits that involve summoning them through mirrors.

They're fine enough, but they seem to allow the limited running time on each segment limit what they can do.

The better ones from the glory days of the simpsons push as much story/jokes as they can, making the most of the running time, which often made them feel like actual movies at times,

That's why it was the best. It wasn't just the effects, it was the HEART. You felt something for almost every, single character on that train! They were so unique, so emotional in certain ways, everyone had a role, almost everyone DIES...

It's a flawless movie. It's one of those you sadly can only watch once though. And the ending, OMG...yes... "Train to Busan" should have been considered the Best Foreign Picture that year.

Honestly, true!

Watching that movie was a train of emotions (lol). Every character was valuable. Watching them dying was so heartbreaking, especially since I felt emotionally attached to them. The way some of them dying were also heroic.

Damn. Miss the humour in the classic 90s episodes. The last time I watched a recent THOH Simpsons special I remember thinking it seems more "sanitized" (no pun intended) now compared to before.

Days later, I'm still thinking about this story and how messed up it is. The teddy, it's ears, the random transmutations...a real mind fu*k. Thanks for this horror gem.
