There are pros and cons for sure. Photoshop is probably better for illustrations since it has more effects, more brushes, etc, but CSP is made specifically for comic making so it has more tools for that specific use. On the down side, it IS missing some basic things that I think really need to be fixed/added in.
Pros:
-Templates
-LOTS of free to use comic assets including comic tones, patterns, panel layouts, etc
-Perspective tool and special rulers that automatically make your lines in perspective/snap to the ruler
-Better pen tools
-Better vector support and allows easy erasing of intersecting lines which is awesome when drawing buildings and stuff.
-Frame folders which is basically the masking tool bumped up to the next level. You can easily divide frames with the frame border tool so they will line up perfectly every time.
-Multi-page support but I honestly haven't been using it since it has some... issues.
Cons:
-The text tool is almost unusable. It doesn't break up text correctly and browsing the font menu is almost an impossible task... especially when you have 1000s of fonts installed. (work around - finish the page in Photoshop)
-No warp tool. Well, I don't miss it too much... but it's definitely helpful. (work around - warp it in Photoshop, but might be difficult in some cases)
-No burn/dodge tools. Which are super handy when making color illustrations.... (work around - use layer effects... but still not the same.........)
-No Save For Web which is something I use almost exclusively in Photoshop since you have more control over saving the image and get a nice preview of it. (work around - again... just do it in Photoshop.)
