1) ok, call it what you want, as long as you find your target audience. imo, a slice of life is anything where the characters EXPERIENCE life as we know it and it shapes them slowly. If your characters are developing like that, like people would in real life when they slowly accept their lessons and yet experience things like family dinners, the breeze, fields, ie. the small joys of life; i suppose you could call it a slice of life novel. if the story is more focused on plot and mindblowing lore, i wouldn't be too big on defining it with JUST slice of life. sounds like an interesting novel btw
2) I genuinely don't know if he sounds interesting because it's a very cliche personality, but depending on his circumstances and how much he sticks only to the "gloomy", "on edge", "brave"; it would differ. I feel like characters become so damn interesting when they unravel and have so many layers, like onions! So seeing his sort of black cat energy unravel into other emotions and internal beliefs would be more interesting to read than just sticking to 4 words reinforced.
3) A love life is like a goal for a lot of young people, like just another thing to be ticked off like a house, a job etc. at 30 that pressure gets a lot worse, so yeah, it's fine for her to be looking for a romantic partner, especially because it's the only thing she's missing. Like Stevie desperately wants to settle down but she ain't go no man yet, so she's trying to find one, that's fair. But if she hasn't found one yet, that means she's being careful with her choice, so probably lowkey high standards. Keeping that in mind, i think the story will make sense.
4) yes, it sounds interesting at face value. Depends on how the build up is, and the writing, and the characters. I'm going to sound like the Gordon Ramsay of writing when i say this (i'm not), it's got potential, writing it will tell! And even if it doesn't go as expected, it would still be satisfying to write i can bet!
