Hey guys, I like to write as a hobby and make interesting places, stories and other things. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is research events and make spin-off stories of things that already exist - however in the recent years I have been heavily invested in world and lore building! (My biggest weak point being making maps)
I'm looking to collaborate with someone that could use my hobbyist skills and give me some stuff to do, as a full time student and really having nothing to do in what spare time I do have, i'd love it if someone could toss some writing ideas my way or work with me in order to create something! Below is a small list brovided by @SpectreFirst!
Do you have any examples of your writing? This is mostly for evaluating your general style of working as well as your general preferences.
1: I used to do a lot of writing, however, now I don't normally post my work online. The only real examples I have of my writing is on a Deviantart account that I had a good while ago, though the work isn't necessarily up to par with my current work, you can find it here: https://kuraithelion.deviantart.com/
-(Using this page you can also judge a good amount of my personality from other stuff I have done in the past, however it is very rare for me to update this page anymore.)
What genres and types of stories do you prefer to work with?
1: Anything really! I like to go and research interesting topics, but the largest branch of things I tend to write about are romance-esque or fantasy material! I love making characters that have connections not immediately revealed and develop relationships over time.
What kind of stuff you are not comfortable with?
1: Not comfortable with? Hmm... The thing I am the least comfortable with writing are relationships with characters that go against my moral codes, aka Shouta and Loli kind of weirdness I guess? I have been asked to write about that kind of stuff in the past, and it makes me feel super awkward so that's about my only limitation.
Are you interested in comic-making only or do you consider both comics and novels?
1: Personally I am fine working on both! I adore having characters visually brought to life, but I also like the breath of life put onto a page that I helped with in order to create a story supplied with the emotion of more than one writer! So i'm fine writing for both comics, and novels!
Do you want to work on your own project with someone else's help, do you want to help others with their projects or do you want to establish completely new project from scratch with roughly equal roles and responsibilities?
1: All of the above! I like having some source material before actually starting a project, however, if there is no ground then it leaves a lot of wiggle room to make a more interesting piece! The only thing I ask, is there be equal effort in the project!
And the last, but probably the most important question: why do you need someone else to work with? If you have some spare time you can just work on your own stuff and be happy with it so why do you need a collaborator in the first place?
1: That is actually a super good point that I didn't really think about, the biggest reason I would want to work on a project with someone, rather than by myself, is because it's much easier for me to maintain focus on a project if someone else is equally invested in it. And this being the case, allows me to pull ideas much easier - I suppose this comes from my tendency /of/ working alone, my own personal projects only go so far before I become disinterested due to my own feedback not allowing me to publish it, so having help and a sense of approval to post it, would really allow me to stop holding back!
