If all you want is to make 100 subs then heres an easy way to do it, in possibly the most frustrating and disrespectful way. Here's what you do. Every hour you go to the fresh page. Click on any comic and sub to them, doesn't matter what it is, just sub to it, maybe like and comment on like 2 or 3 pages no matter what you think about it. Now only do this for comics that have like 1-20 subs these ones are more likely to sub you back without hesitation as opposed to someone who has like 500-2k subs. Now after you have gotten their sub don't unsub, for some reason people get super butt hurt if you unsub someone right away. You have to really scum it out for like maybe a year, but luckily you can just ignore any updates and possibly seeing someone improve their work through time, but all that matters is that sub they give you. Now here's the kicker, there's a good chance they may not read your work too cause they're trying the same tactic. Soon enough you will have about 100 subs withing maybe 1-3 months in no time. (Sadly this actually does work for some people so if you're actually ok with it, uh yeah

you can be patient, utilize advertising methods that aren't pandering. Get engaged with your own audience, and promote the idea of sharing your work through social media. Understand that not every person may be interested in your comic and figure out who your demographic actually is, and try to focus on them first instead of shooting for an everyone should love my work. Like I said there's always someone on the forums here with a "Hey, post your comic here and I will check it out" (whether they actually do is up to speculations) but maybe someone else who actually does look through the options might check it out. There's also comic promotion things such as #webcomicalliance and #webcomichour etc. Now this method sucks because it requires actually being patient and making it seem like you want people to read your work because you took the time to actually make something that people may want to read. Also it sucks cause it makes you seem like a respectful person.
All my sarcasm aside there is no right method that I'm aware of.
