Hello~
I go by TurtleMe here on Tapas and I post and comment in this forum from time to time so I'd like to think I'm somewhat a part of this community (haha)
Due to requests from my readers curious about my daily life, I recently created a comic called Turtle Days
I'm a writer so the skill of drawing eludes me, which is why I've hired an artist to draw comic shorts based on the scripts I give her.
The reason I posted this was (the hint is in the title) because I'd like to work with other artists here on Tapas as well! As you might've guessed, I'm looking for comic artists that are able to draw just one short episode (5-7 panels) of a script that I give them.
Reason's you might want to apply:
1) Unlike other collaborations, this does not require commitment. If selected, we can collaborate on one episode (again, 5-7 panels) and then we can part ways. Of course, if both parties want to continue the collaboration, that can be arranged.
2) It's paid. Again, like the title of this post states, it's paid. I'm fortunate enough to be able to make a living doing what I love and I'm using this daily-life comic of mine as a thank you to all of my readers and fans so it's only natural to pay the artist for their work and effort.
3) You can use it as promotion. My novel, The Beginning After The End has a little over 500,000 views and 16,000 subscribers. My comic, on the other hand, has reached 4,000 views and 300 subscribers and it has only been a week since it was created. I make sure to credit the artist (links to their tapas page and their patreon if applicable) in the description so it can be a decent way to promote your own work that you have on Tapas or elsewhere.
4) Chance for reoccurring commissions. This is just a repeat of reason one, but, again, if both parties want to continue to work together, said artist/artists can be reoccurring guests.
How to apply:
It's fairly simply. Just comment below with a link to some of your comics or just dm me. Be sure to include your email address for when I get back to you and also a price range for your service (negotiable)
In your application, a bonus would be to include a fun/simple idea for the comic short you'd want to do. (it'd have to be relevant to me/my life of course). This is optional
NOTE* comic artist must know how to color (sounds odd saying it like this). I'd highly highly highly prefer the comic shorts to all be in color so try to share links to colored works as well.
NOTE 2* I'm looking for multiple artists, so I encourage everyone who's interested to apply!
Lastly, I just want to thank everyone for taking the time to read this. Part of the reason I'm doing this is because I've grown to appreciate the community here on Tapas and thought it'd be a cool way to work with some of you.
Cheers,
TurtleMe
p.s. please excuse my grammar/typos/etc.
