This forum and great people actually helped a lot! Join all the threads you feel are interesting, ask people questions on how to make your comic better. Post regularly, this matters, at least on Webtoons. Social media can be really annoying, but you got to do this one too

Lots of promotion on social media like Twitter, Reddit and Instagram. The wider you cast your promotional net, the more likely you’ll find people who are interested in what you’re making!

Mark my words, it takes so long to get even 250 views (well it did for me), but what worked for me was continuously promoting my comics on various different forums and sharing the link to all my friends (which would have been more effective if I had more friends XD), so hopefully that works for you too.

Yes, big agreement here. The writer friends I made on Discord and around Tapas have helped me so much to improve in my writing plus, we pump each other up on socials and stuff cuz we're genuinely excited about each other's work.

I think if you go into a space with an authentic desire to connect, then audience comes later. Plus you get cool friends!

I promoted the hell out of it here on the forums, lmao. I'm always on those "Promote your comic if it has x subs" types of topics when I joined last year.

I also put it up for reviews when I can see them here. You get critiqued and you can get a good bit of promotion too.

I hardly promote on social media, because a lot of people who know me in real life follow me on social media and I'm embarrassed, haha.

I put it under the BL genre because some readers got mad at the 'surprise gay' 'forced gay' 'why is the main character suddenly GAY' critique I was starting to get (he was always bi since chapter 1, he just didn't have a canon crush until then)

So I put it under 'BL' so it wouldn't be a surprise and bam. Readers.

Note: It's now it's been put in LGBT+ since that genre has been introduced because romance wasn't really the theme and my new readers have tanked severely, but I really don't want to put it back in BL cause I also got a lot of really weird comments from readers that were much to horny and didn't know how to act in public.
