How do I spread the word about my serial novel?

I get that I'm supposed to be active on social media, but are there any other channels I can use? My series is kind of an odd duck, marketing-wise.

¿What kind of oddness are you talking about?
Sometimes odd can be great for marketing.
You may want to focus on a niche, for example if your novel is about horror, search for sites and forums related to that topic. And if you have a mix of genres, search sites that appeal to those demographics and check how well they respond.

It's a testosterone-filled dark fantasy story. Lots of fighting, bleeding, and manly bonding. I gather that it's different from the usual Tapas webserial offering.

i can never remember if advertise has a z or a s in it. preeetty sure this is right. anyway i know theres a buncha topics about how to advertise your comics but a lot of the time the advice is kinda fuzzy on the details. or they're just tips people have heard from other people and havent tried it themselves. so how do YOU advertise your comic? what do you do? draw promo pics? post in certain forums? get your friends to spread the word? lay down the deets yo

I was wondering if there was a possible was to advertise your comic free but not seem like an annoying prick spam linking every user to his/her comic...I don't want to be that person. Basically is there a free way to advertise your comic without seeming desperate. And just for the hell of it on my own forum post I'll link my comic here

The only thing I would add to this, is you might want to join a few forums or facebook groups, especially ones that cater to your niche' genre. That might help too!
