For me, and perhaps it was a bad idea for the online formats that are popular these days, but I originally format my comics to be traditional Western Comic Book style, as if for print. I realized this made them VERY hard to read on sites like Tapas and Webtoon, so I have since kept my pages in that format, but single out individual panels so they're easier to read on vertical scrolling sites.
Traditional
Vs.
Web-scrolling version
My panels vary from page to page, depending on pacing and how much information I need to convey to move the story along at that point, but usually average from 1 (splash page, which I'm curious if anyone has any feedback on how to make these work on vertical scrolling format sites like this and webtoon, I'm just NOW realizing this might be kind of a difficult thing to adapt) up to 9 (smaller, shorter panels, usually when I'm trying to get a back and forth conversation out)
As is now, the level of shading and rendering is a little bit less refined than my standard art, just for the sake of not taking forever to do a single page.
In regards to unique... I guess all I can do is do what I would normally do and hope that is unique enough, lol.
