I only use them when I have something exciting or important to announce, but making a chapter in the story for it doesn't seem appropriate.
Feel like anything else is overkill to me

i only send notifcations to inform my readers about important things. major errors in episodes that were uploaded (like them having a part of the next chapter tagged onto the end) or competitions or special events coming up
