I couldn't find a general thread for asking for opinions on panels so I made one.

I'm using an overlay layer with blue lighting but I'm not sure which scene I like better - sometimes I even think it looks good without overlay. Its a subtle effect so I feel like I need several other opinions.

No Overlay

Blue to white gradient overlay (characters only) @ 11% transparency

Solid Blue overlay (characters only) @ 11%

Solid Blue overlay (everything) @11%

I know its a super subtle difference but ughhhhh its driving me crazy

I honestly don't see any difference? Maybe it's my screen, but really, they all look the same to me

Haha its really subtle but I see it, and its killing me (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

You might be able to see the Jacket is more saturated in the first one

Dude, that's SO subtle I don't think anyone is going to notice unless you tell them, I like the first and third panels, though

I can't really tell the difference either...maybe the third panel looks a tad bit different and I like that a more?...But I'm not sure about the other ones///

When I switch the layers live in mangastudio its clearly different because I can see it changing but can't decide whats better. I know I'm being totally neurotic. If anyone uses mangastudio and wants to try out the file themselves I can send it. Otherwise I may just go with the first one. Less layers means less CPU load I suppose.

EDIT: Also feel free to use this thread to test out panels with the forum. I saw a similar thread a while back but forgot the title and couldn't find it again.

I have a pretty good eye for color and I could hardly notice any difference. ^^;
Maybe make some versions with the opacity turned up a bit?

You have to be able to be able to flip between the different versions in order to really see the difference; side-by-side, it's barely visible!

This difference is so minor that it literally doesn't matter. But I choose either #1 or #4.

I'd go with 3 or 4. the overlay brightens up the foreground characters in #3, while the background is a little dark, which helps the eyes focus on the characters...in #4, everything is a little brighter, but it still works.

You were able to differentiate the most out of anyone haha I'm impressed. I actually ended up going with #2 which was a bit brighter than number 3, and let the background stay darker. Thanks guys

For the nth time It's barely noticeable smile but if I absolutely had to pick, I'd go with #4. The blue everywhere helps harmonize the palette but I'd check the entire page as well. Might end up looking really blue by comparison...
