How important is descriptive ability for comic authors?

If I am making a story for a comic artist, besides making my story clear and readable for the artist and communicating to them what I want, does your descriptive ability really matter as a writer as long as your ideas are story are good?

depends on your collaborative process and how much control you want to give the artist.
Alan Moore is famous for describing everything in his panels, which is why the world of his comic is so fleshed out.
Some other writers just write a short descriptions, highlight whats needed, and let the artists do the rest
