Grassblades turned up as a scribble in my sketchbook and a vague idea of wanting to do something with a wandering swordsman and a little girl about.... four years ago? After that, it just sort of sat around, and I poked at the idea a few times, trying to develop some kind of storyline to go with it, but I kept hitting walls - so I just left it there.
Then, in late September last year, I finally broke through the walls! I managed to come up with a solid idea for an antagonist, and it was like the floodgates had opened - everything just magically fell into place, and I was off, scribbling storyboards and drafting outlines and finalising character designs. I got to work on the pages, and finally started posting on March 2nd this year.
... and I'll probably go on posting for years. Grassblades is going to be a beast of a story.
I'm doing a lot of short sideprojects at the same time, though - so that I get that wonderful feeling of finishing a story every once in a while. And also because I've got dozens of ideas and hundreds of characters and I don't want to just ignore them for years and years while I work on Grassblades. XD
