How long should episodes be for a novel?

I’m thinking about creating a novel on tapas, but I have no idea what a good word count is per episode.
So roughly how many words do you use per episode as a writer?

I personally think that each episode can have as many or as few words as you would like. I normally try to keep all of my episodes around the same amount of words, 1200-1600. One of mine was only 900 words but I do not think it matters all that much. I do think I have seen some novels with over 2000 but I do not normally notice how long it is when I am reading I think what is more important is a little more consistent upload schedule or very cheeky cliffhangers.

Yeah…. I’m 15000 per chapter.

Also before you get all mathematical with the word count, just write it first.

I agree with @yumeryuu . Write first, divide later!

Mine is roughly around 700-800, but around 1000-1500 is common enough. In the end, my one episode does not equal one chapter. One chapter = 3 episodes. But then again, there is no exact formula, so just write however you want.

I wouldn't stress. My opening chapter was under a 1000 last time I checked. I like to have over a 1000 words but the length varies. On a great day I might look down and my chapter is getting to or has gone over 5000. Each chapter will decide how much it has to say. Keep in mind Tapas has a character count though which could affect your word count per chapter.

I agree with everyone. I think it's the contents of the chapters. I tend to keep my chapters around a 1000 words and if one chapter has more or less then that that's okay!!
