Oh wow, check this out, there's such a variety of paces here! I think that working at a break-neck speed for deadlines is a dangerous way of going about it -- maybe good to start but getting yourself comfortable AT YOUR OWN discretion is key.
Now, breaking it all down, my sketching phase is the shortest -- probably 20/30 minutes max. The inking is a bleeding joy and relish in it every moment. Probably an hour, 2 hours with complicated interiors/decorated spaces, crowd shots. The painting and values. That is what kills me. 2/3 hours just getting my flats in, it is torturous.
