Just curious about it, I mainly try to maintain a schedule of releasing parts 1 and 2 of a chapter every 2-3 days, but I wonder what the upload schedule is for other novel writers?

I'm also trying to experiment with the 1 chapter per week approach since it gives me more time to revise and improvise the writing in the story, I might actually start doing that once I finish the Sandstorm Organization Arc of the novel (Chapters 1-12)

As a reader I like weekly updates on fixed days

It depends actually. If you take time writing stories then I suggest going on regular breaks, and writing in bulk, and between every 2-4 days you can upload 1 or 2 chaps.

For me, I usually plan out my chapters rather than write n keep them, but I hear many say writing n keeping is better, but for me, my ideas keep changing so I prepare basic layout for all chapters then set a timer and complete writing in 2-4 hours.

As for publishing, I sometimes publish 2 chapters or more and don't publish for 5 days. Unless I have the urge to.

I update once a week every Friday. For the foreseeable future.

I try to keep my uploading spread out throughout the week and on set days. For now, I'm uploading every Monday and Friday, giving myself the time between those days to write new chapters or tidy up the ones that are about to be put out.

14 days later

I am just getting started here, but I have some material saved up that I am posting. I may adopt the weekly release model. I may have been overly cautious by setting it up bimonthly. Is there a way to post longer chapters? Or do I have to split long ones?.

I've been updating every Monday and Friday, as that's how often I can do it with my current schedule. But it will depend on what else you must balance on your daily routine, but once or twice a week seems to be a good pacing.

@eldritchtroubadour Is that getting you good reader response? My own stories are all linked obscurely. I have about 10 or so at different points of development. I have only started posting two of them here so far, but it sounds like I need to step it up if I want to get readers...

I used to upload weekly, but with my current schedule, I’ve shifted to once every two weeks. It also gives us more breather without burning out. Your health is important, so finding a balance that works for you is key.

I upload two pages twice a week on fixed days. With the complete versions of chapters going up once a month.

For me, new writers should upload new chapters as frequent as possible, like every other three days or less to gather enough reads. In terms of those who have a stable fan base or readers should upload not more than every week to satiate reader's intention and interest to their published story.

In my case, I published around every other four days, to be specific, I scheduled my next chapter so that I wouldn't stress about making it to my own schedule. Like what I did to my newly published story in this platform, The Writer in Some Kind of Fantasy World.

But the most important of all, it's better to upload in your pace while hooking reader's attention in your story.
