I've always spoken up for both sides since I do both jobs for my comic. And even then my comic is a collab between myself and my best friend. And he also is a writer and artist. I don't see a point in putting either side down so I don't. For me if I get stumped while writing Dan steps in and helps work the plot back into a flowing story again. He also helps by doing a lot of character design on the side of his writing duties.

I am not saying every artist hates every writer, but there is undeniably a trend. The writer vs artist posts first, and now these collab posts again, it doesn't show a very healthy dynamic at all in the forums - it's why I personally greatly prefer the groups set up in discord servers that seem to be more balanced.

Just yesterday alone (just changed to midnight here), three of them were posted. Seven so far in this past week, and beyond that I see more and more.. I actually didn't know they were made that often! How come you're not seeing these recent ones?? Anyways, a bunch have the tone of just seeing one bc they get posted as soon as the user sees one, they get triggered and off to the keyboard they gooooo

eh I feel like the writers vs artists debate that sparks up online on twitter as well as here is a very vocal minority. Just on this particular forum there really is no vetting of collab posts at all so we're getting really, really young people asking for collabs and I think if more artists of the same age were asking for collab posts from writers we'd be getting the same push back against them. It's really not about writer vs artist problem it's a "lurk moar" problem

Personal opinion.

I just like to think that there might be a real brilliant writer out of these bad collab thread that came to the forum posting about looking for an artist but just very bad at making one. My guide exist to guide them to make them better.

Whether they follow my instructions and want to raise their chance of getting an artist or just don't care at all, it can be seen by them editing their thread or making a new one with more complete information.

Aside from that, it's all up to the artist that's interested, and the thread op to make that comic came to life.

I don't want to dampen their love for comic by harsh words, so I made a guide with relatively mild words. All in all, if they can find an artist or not is not my cobcern as it is not my responsibility. I just want to help.

that’s totally fine, like i said there’s no problem in saying how it’s done, it’s just been kind of annoying to see a whole load of different threads with the same convo that seem like a reaction towards nothing in particular, like complaining about the existence of something that’s not there, although it seems like something is there but for whatever reason i can’t see it like an unlisted video on youtube.

The solution would be easy.

a) Move every Collaboration thread to the Collaboration category.

b) Those that have problems with collaboration threads just....you know mute that category? you can do that in your preferences, so you don't have to see those anymore.

Mmh... I rarely browse on Latest but all new topics pass through New

Latest may eat really fast those collabs since they don't get much activity, while in New they remain at least for a day.

At least, I got to see them there, but surely the forum is not flooded on them right now.

It feels like someone needs a hug, get offline some time and rest properly (but seeing the way they are posting, I fear to tell them in their thread, I don't want to pick a fight)

i don’t see any collab posts in the ‘new’ tab either... or much of anything at all really. The only way i seem to be able to find those collab posts is if I were to intentionally go and search for them by going in the ‘categories’ tab and selecting “collaborations” which since i’m not looking for collabs to be in, i never go category searching as such...

maybe that’s why i never see them show up in any of my feed, it’s because i don’t go looking for it

May it be that the forum has some kind filter based on your activity?

If you didn't block the collab category from enter on your feed it should be there.

There's a "Writer seeking artist" from an hour ago in New.

Strange stuff this.

It shouldn't have a filter based on what you're reading or seeking. Latest and New should just be those categories flat out, regardless of anything other categories. It sounds more like a bug has been discovered, unless someone's turned off seeing the category in their settings.

Yeah, okay, you ever just mute something like a month ago and then forgot you muted it? Because that's what it appears I have done.

But that doesn't make sense to me either though, because I muted the collab topic, I shouldn't be getting collab category posts, and yet some still leak through:

Oh, mine wasn't originally put in the collaboration category, it actually wasn't put in any when I created the topic. It was only after a while that a mod came by and edited the topic just to add it there, maybe that's the difference with the ones like these that still pop up for you
