How to make Content without a writter? Artist Ideas? + Artist Block Help?!

I am a artist that primarily makes art and not much writing. I enjoy sharing my art on webtoon! Although I do love making webtoons/web-comics as well. Although not everyone knows how to write a story or even a joke. So I was wondering if people found creative ways to make content with minimal writing involved? Feel free to share you ideas and examples of such storys and art/comic etc.?! I don't care what you share... just please try to start a conversation going! Plus Thanks in advance for any advice and helpful hints! Also free to add artist block hints and suggestions! Because that's always good to talk about!

After I failed a few projects I realized I HAVE to learn how to write. The stories I made were so aimless that I didn't know what comes next and I can't draw anything at all coz I was so lost. So i watched a few vids about writing on youtube, read some stuff and taught myself how to write a story. I ditched my old method of scripting and learned the script formating which was very helpful. I find that drawing and planning a webtoon is easier after learning all of that. If any of you guys are using or learning script formatting , I recommend Trelby. It's a free program that automatically formats as you type.

Sorry, this isn't really a tip to help you get away with minimal writing because that's not my style. You can't really neglect the writing part of the WT if you want to make good content.

I think if you really want to minimize writing , you could choose to make gag-a-day comic instead? Or maybe pick a genre that requires less of the skill you lack? Like if you can't write plot heavy stories then go for slice of life

You could do a gag-a-day without having a gag. Maybe write a random thought and then pair it with an illustration. It can be more poetic and lowkey, which could work well in spaces like instagram.

Ideas: shower thoughts, dreams, musings, maybe something autobiographical like sharing a childhood memory. Sky's the limit!

You could draw a story where the main characters are animals. If you want these animals don't have to have owners if you don't want to write. You can tell a story or gag through whatever they're doing, and since they're animals they don't have to talk. Or you could make self contained stories where each episode has a different animal or animals in it.

Though if you don't want to use animals, you could make up your own monsters that don't talk and create something with that.

I can relate to this type of frustrations. I am an aspiring webtoon maker, but I didn't learn how to write enough. Although I have gotten writers in the past to write stuff for me I often gave up on solid projects for reasons of being uninterested or just not fully immersed in the story/project. Although I'll be honest I've made some amazing art in the past and I still think I got a lot of skills. I plan to continue to grow my skills as an artist the draws and writes for his own webtoons/webcomics!

Keep a notebook or file.
Post in it any random ideas that come to mind.

That clears your head for work you to have focus for, and it is something to look back over when you are stuck for ideas.

It's kind of rare for me to be out of ideas but I have had art block related to level of energy or emotional state of being, but in those times where I am low on inspiration I like to go through prompt generators or blogs like these:

Writing Prompts especially has been geed because it's helped churn ideas for very short stories rather than trying to brew something much longer up

One of the projects I'm currently working on falls in the realm of "minimal writing" and I've been having similar thoughts to what you describe in the OP- that it's kind of nice and easy compared to something with more involved writing haha. The project in question is a comic strip slice of life series based on a D&D campaign I'm in rn. I adapt 1 or 2 of the best scenes per session into comic form, basically. There's 0 drafting involved because the "writing" is done by all of the players while playing. At most I edit/revise the dialogue slightly to work better as a comic (or censor certain things lol) but it's a lot quicker than actual comic writing, I can jump into thumbnailing immediately. Been fun so far!
