How well do your subscribers know your comic's/novel's lore?

Nothing. Mine hasn’t come out yet. XD But when my comic does get going, I want to share lore similar to how JK Rowling does it, but without hurting the story by doing so.

She shares added lore to her universes through social media and other means. Although, she’s notorious for breaking her stories and universe by doing so. At least, that’s how most view her worldbuilding that way.

The lore in my story is pretty deveopped I suppose, but info will come very slowly, so I don't expect my readers to remember everything. Actually, I'd say one of my top concerns when writing is to make sure the story is understandable lore-wise for those who read page by page, but not too redundant when it will be read all at once, when it will be finished.
For that, I made my story more character-driven that I originally wanted. But I'm fine with it.
So.. I don't know how well my readers will know the lore, but I don't see that as very important, because following the character's stories should be sufficient.

I have a few people who have known about my story for a long time and characters around it really want to know a few facts and read sidestories and prequels. So I hope that my readers will also grow interested by what they are reading and want to know more.

Currently a lot of the focus has been on the two main characters, but soon it'll branch just a little bit to the other characters and some of the power structure and struggles of the Dante Family. My hope is that my writing is good enough to bring people in and if I want more attention (WITNESS ME), then having milestone extras or using Ink gifts (666 baby) to build extra content and art may help. We'll see ^^;

Do you want to expand your fictional universe after you finish your series? Or do you intend on working on your series without a solid ending?

I only reveal as much lore as the main characters know, beacuse the world in which the characters are immersed is pretty much as mystery for everyone (and also a big part of the plot). It will all be revealed in time, as the characters discover about more it.

I see how that would make things interesting. Although, shouldn't they know a little bit about a lot of the lore? If they don't, I feel like that would make the story inconsistent. Then the audience would be more confused.

Well, I try to show enough of it to make sense, to give it a feel of normality, and leave the surprises for when the characters discover there is something else behing what seems normal :3 Not sure I can succeed with it (I've just finished season 1 of my comic), but that's the goal ^_^

I think all the lore will fit in the main story, so I don't really intend to write anything else; however, my main story is divided in several (at least 3) arcs and each arc is constituted of one main plot and several subplots, so there is plenty of space for expanding on lore.

However, relatively early in the story (I think that will be chapter 4 and 5, not entirely decided yet), I have a subplot full of lore, and because it is well defined and can be pretty much read as a standalone, I will publish it as a sort of spinoff to avoid delaying the main plot too much. BUT I will reintroduce it in its right place in the story as soon as the first arc is finished.

Eheheh, not all that well yet... and that's very deliberate on my part. I've left little hints here and there and I think someone clever enough might be able to figure it out at some point, though about halfway through the first major part of the series a big reveal will blow the lid off on a lot of the world lore.

Well, I seem to put a fair number of lore and world-building for each faction but all of them together as nine, that is a lot.

I am fine, so long as they remember the names of the nine factions because each of them had a key role of their own in my comic.

I hope so I guess. I think when you do foreshadowing well people can figure out what's happening, they're just never sure of it.

So for my novel, Lady Death, I am using Fae lore or Faerie lore.
Think JRR Tolkien's elves with fangs and they can't touch iron.
Most people are not as obsessed with the fae as I am, so at the beginning of each chapter I include quotes.
Sometimes they are poems, sometimes they are facts, but the quotes help the readers
