If you're strictly a visual artist, there's zero necessity to show your irl face, or even your name. Look at Banksy for example. If you're not comfortable showing your face to thousands of strangers, you don't have to.
But OWN HOW YOU LOOK in real life, even if the internet never sees you. Haters gon' hate. There will always be critics. Shut them out if they're ragging on you for something as shallow as physical appearance.
Personally I think I look okay. I did have a very slight weight problem in my youth and am now at an ideal size so I'm proud of that at least. I have a square face with a jawline stronger than most girls I've seen so I guess I'm not conventionally attractive. I don't wear makeup or play up my looks. However, I don't mind posting the occasional pic of myself on my instagram since I think it's fine to share a bit of one's day to day life on that platform, and it can show off your personality.
