If your comic or novel got a anime adaptation, how well do you think anime fans would like it?

Fans of fluffy romance qnd light comedy animemight acutally like it. Although, I do believe it would be a much better show if it were a sitcom (live-action or animated) like 'Friends'.

The main Damsel In the Red Dress plot wouldn't make for a very good anime imao, both I could see a short sweet anime being made about Andrew and Jinho

Etherwood could be successful as an anime...but it'd be more naturally adapted into a modern western cartoon. I think there'd be a disconnect between my storytelling style and characterizations and the typical anime.

Depends on the budget and talent I'm given. There's tons of great books and manga that got poorly made or unfinished adaptations.

I have a few magical girl concepts that might do well in just those communities since it's kind of a dead genre. The concept I'm focused on now is about goddess. who isn't from any mythology, dealing with trauma. So I think it might be too weird of a concept to catch on no matter how it's adapted

The typical anime absolutely wouldn’t be able to work with Etherwood, but having read it I definitely feel like Studio Ghibli could handle it, albeit messing with the pacing to work for a film.

Now that's high praise! I agree on pacing, comic and film pacing are very different. Like the Nausicaa film and the manga are worlds apart.

i think it would depend heavily on the audience and which story got adapted coz of the main three i'd been developing i can see maybe two being fairly well received but the third would likely end up with a kind of small niche fanbase because of it's content

coz there's the option for the character driven fantasy adventure with enough of a mix of action to keep people engaged, there's the supernatural/fantasy slice of life with comedy and drama elements and then there's the experimental supernatural drama

plus my mindset is that if something as esoteric as lain can earn it's own dedicated fanbase then i've got nothin to lose

I believe a lot of anime fans would like it! My comic takes inspiration from the early 2000s ultraviolent dark, and twisted anime. I feel that with all the isekais and Slice of Lifes out there, something dark and edgy might pique some people's interest. Even if it's not a whole lot, I still feel a niche would be filled and would probably have a nice fanbase similar to Serial Experiments Lain or Hellsing!

That depends on what studio will do the adaptation. I might be ok with the animators of current bleach, Chainsaw man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and season 1 of one punch man.

However, I prefer the animators from food dungeon.

Abysskeeper Suen is already based on a lot of anime, so I think it’d be received very well by a very small group. Magical girl is already a cult classic of a genre and adding the horror inspired elements definitely doesn’t expand the potential audience. I do imagine it would be the kind of anime that overtakes the source material fairly fast and thus goes completely off the rails in the middle of the show, and the fandom is forever splintered on which canon has the better finale.

In terms of reception, I think it would be pretty decent? Mostly due to the 'dire times' and ambiguity surrounding my characters as well as the lore- so I think Veiled Deceit does stand a chance at being a pretty good adaptation. There's quite a lot of suspense and action to keep people effectively hooked and loads of characters for people to like/disagree with.

I really think my story would do well. I wrote it in the same spirit as Avatar, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece—it’s full of action and has plenty of twists to keep readers hooked. I think it would definitely connect with Black anime fans, but honestly, anyone could enjoy it if they’re open to exploring an African-inspired world where all the characters reflect that setting.

Well, I have a particular story that I personally would love to see as an anime (I think the style would really work for it.) I was once told that this story sounds like something guys at Area 51 would tell each other on their lunch breaks, so I feel like it would perfectly fit the wacky vibes that certain animes have.
I just have to write it… aghhhhh- (can’t decide on the tense/narrative voice

you'd be surprised how much western stories do well as anime. One of the current popular titles this season is an anime adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. I believe the anime title is Anne Shirley?

Not sure how well mine would do, as it's set in Chicago and the main characters are in their mid to late twenties rather than the stock late teens. There could definitely be a place for it, as the modern fantasy elements feel similar to stories such as Witch Watch (which of course has the Tokyo setting and teen characters)
