Promote your story using writing prompts. It doesn't need to have started from one, just imagine if it had what would it be. They can be as long or short as needed.
Here's some examples niether of mine started from prompts but I am a fan of shorter ones.
What if children lived on an island alone?
Write about tropes that annoy you but you read anyway.
