Review
Capture the flag feels alot like an old Warner brother cartoon of two opposing enemies fighting over a flag. A ridiculous and very flexible premise, I can see it going in so many directions. Thou my main concern is running out of clever jokes for this premise especially when, both sides to me share similar personalities, neither seems more ruthless, pragmatic, clever than the other . But so far the first ten strips have some very clever jokes. Thou the first strip is my favorite personally.

The art is an interesting thing. It gets the gags done very well and its composition lends really well to what you want to achieve. Like you really know what your doing with the art and what you want to do. However due to the very jagged lines I can tell its done in Microsoft paint, which gives a rather ugly look(not in a good way for me personally). So for your comic its good, for my eyes its not nice to look at up close on my lap top screen.

A gag-a-day strip comic. Art wise it nice on the eyes, and has some good exaggerated expressions for the jokes, nothing more I can say. And for the jokes themselves my favorite was the beheading comic, I just love the acknowledge absurdity of some old lady just standing there casually giving instructions on beheading to a girl in the middle of the act. Funny. Its just some jokes and the stripe involving Julius Cesears name is both interesting and amusing. Thou if I'm to be honest most strip comics tend to have a theme for their jokes to appeal to a specific audience. Gaming, dark humor, absurd humor, depression, calculus. This one doesn't seem to have much of one(thou I get it its your thoughts). I know some of your strips would be funny to some that are not me and others funny to me but not others. A very general comic to me personally

Okay, traditionally done and very good to look at. The markers gives this alot of character. The story so far even within the first ten pages is well-paced and overall rather interesting. I have to admit I broke my only 10 pages rule and continued reading a bit further down the line because I was invested. I plan to put this on my read later list. Since I have other comic right now to get to. Nice.

The art is beautiful, period.
Nothing more I can say.
Its gorgeous.

Moving on because It looks like it would take ages to draw it. I'll admit I'm rather bored by pure romance generally. The story and characters have to be either dark and messed up as all hell, or the comic has to be just short vinettes so it doesn't take too much of my time. Ie one strip a week. But your comic has just a soothing start and nice looking art that I'm curious on where its going. The characters so far seem likable, so very nice.

Thanks, Judith Beheading Holofernes does seem to be a popular one - I post my comics to Reddit and it's currently my best rated submission. I get the commentary on the lack of theme - right now I'm not sure whether or not it's a flaw because I'm using this comic as essentially a dumping ground for all my amusing thoughts, so it's bound to be a mixed bag for most people.

I get more experimental with my art with later strips, so I would be curious what you think of those - but I understand you're limiting how much of these comics you read to get through the reviews.

I believed using other free art programs can lead to less jagged lines since lines default anti-alias thingy makes the line less jagged(can be changed within the Microsoft paint program itself but the program when I last used it didn't allow for layers and other stuff). Don't quote me on that I could be wrong

Fire Alpaca
Krita(very complicated at first so best start of with the ones above)

Are free art programs I used to use. Media bang has the advantage of cloud storage and easy creation of panels, and krita once you get used to it has more features(text tool is not that good and it ran pretty badly on my ex-laptop but it was the last one I used before buying clip paint) and Fire Alpaca is good for animation and has a decent text tool

Your welcome. Don't be afraid too use more than one program for your comic. Like I used Krita to draw the comic itself and then used Fire Alpaca for the text. Or using one program to sketch and another one to ink and color.

Most free art programs tend to have one key thing you want missing so its alright to use multiple for one project.
