Im surprised no ones said this. but you could face major back lash from drawing/writing about two infamous historical figures. Like I dont know if this is obvious to you or not, so thats the only reason I'm saying it.
Making real people, who did terrible things, gay, for the sake of drawing raunchy military men. Is fetishistic. And plain morally ambiguous.
Like I understand, homosexuality in history is prominently disguised and its important to shine a light on the obvious spectrum of sexuality through out time. But son. Do it properly or don't do it all.
You could always do characters with their likeness, so it doesnt hold all the weight those figures carry.
