Well, Astra is an angelic looking woman who has blonde hair, amber eyes and thick lips. In fact, her style and body are inspired by Elvira with an angelic 80s twist. Then you have Psychoborg who is talk, dark and muscular with scars in all the right places. Plus, he's very masculine. So... yeah. They're pretty.

When Prometheus (the monster) is cleaned up, he still looks unnatural due to his multi-shaded skin, but he has a very gentle face, voice and kind eyes. Plus, his sense of style makes him look like a big doll in a cute way, so I suppose he is good looking in a cuddly kind of way.

Marana has to be the most attractive (even though she is 75 percent metal) but look how gorgeous!

Zov'ha is attractive in a strong way. She's kind of serious, but she can be sexy.

Aekis may look strange to most humans. But I'm sure there are people out there who find aliens attractive (he's not alien just looks like it... emo alien lol)

Sinovan is probably the least attractive, but he's the kindest.

serious people can still have sexy sides. Mrs. Moon is very serious 99% of the time (because she works 99% of the time) but when she was younger (I mean, even within Kattar's lifetime) quite a lot of men wanted to be her suitors.

It is! That and the Disney princesses, though the body is Elvira. Like I said, she's Elvira with an angelic style instead of a gothic one. In fact, it's been confirmed that Astra has double Ds and if you look at Elvira's eyes, they're shaped like Astra's. She tends to wear red lipstick when dressing up too. I did it because I want beautiful female characters to make a comeback. The point of it is that I wanted to remind people that whole point of feminism was that femininity and female beauty do not hold women back when it comes to being strong, heroic and smart. Just because Astra wears a lovely dress with cleavage and will wear high heels doesn't mean she can't take you on in a fight. She is STILL a Champion no matter what she wears.

@MK_Wizard I don't think pretty female characters ever went out of style, there are just lots of different kinds of beauty, and lots of different kinds are being represented more and more over time. Some people find long hair, dresses and high heels pretty, others find short hair and fashion like button ups and sweaters pretty. Especially in anime the idea of what society considers 'girly girls' being strong fighters as well has never died out, but girls that aren't inherently super busty, or who wear less revealing clothes are also getting more time in the spotlight.

Good point though maybe my experiences have been different. I am all for diverse beauty and I in fact, love it. However, I have also noticed some dulli-fication and make-undering of female characters. Another that was done recently was how in some video games, female characters have been made less pretty even when modeled after actual women who are pretty (which is not very nice to the women).

I guess it depends where you're looking.

PS: If I'm wrong and just had bad luck, I will be happy to wrong.

I honestly don't think it's that much of an issue.
There's more focus on a sense of realism and practicality in female character design. Less the kind of bimbo sexdolls, just meant to be oogled at (cough, Stellar Blade, cough)

I think there are quite a few examples of female characters that are still made more traditionally feminine while also being hardcore, and useful, not wimps and pushovers, so perhaps it's just been bad luck. But as more people write female characters, I think there has been a lot more focus, as Kevin Rejinders mentioned, on dressing them more practically for context and avoiding making the characters look like they are just there for eye candy.

I think it all comes down to artistic freedom. I myself see both sides of the argument and think they both have good points to which reply is to pick what you like and be kind to your neighbours on the other side. And I firmly believe in artistic freedom because I believe in free speech even when it is outrageous or a speech I don't like.

Though I have admit that I do prefer that when the female characters are fighting on purpose and are not spontaneously thrown into a fight that they dress like they're ready for a fight which is why I try to make Astra's armor a nice balance between pretty and practical.

I don't think you can "both sides" this.
On the one hand you've got raging mysogynists seething about wanting their jerk-off material and on the other hand you've got folks who like, want something other than lazy jerk-off designs 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not implying that your character is a jerk-off design btw. But the actual people who complain about, idk, let's say Aloy from Horizon, are demanding just that.

I have to agree to disagree because I know some of these people and they are not what you think. Many of them are married with daughter who they put on pedestals. Plus, in the defense of guys who like fanservice, you can put male characters into some pretty sexy mod skins too which women can enjoy.

Then there was that time in Metal Gear Solid 2 where Raiden was as naked as newborn with only his hands covering his unmentionables. I mean, they didn't even try to hide his butt. And even when he was clothed, he basically wore an outfit that was the masculine version of what Eve wears shiny metal rear and all lol. So if women can have eye candy and not be judged, I'm just saying men shouldn't either. We're all human.

Don't get me wrong, some of these guys are bad dudes and I have met who you've been talking about, but yes, there are two sides to the argument.

PS: My number one litmus test of when these guys are bad dudes is how they react to finding out that I'm a woman. I get mistaken for being a guy a lot online. If they start treating me differently after whether it is treating me worse or treating me better (a little too much), this tells me that I am suddenly not an equal in their eyes.

In my experience, the men online who keep treating me the same way after finding out that I'm a woman are the men who just want to enjoy a game. If that includes having their eyes pleased, well, I don't judge people's fantasies because I've met women with fantasies and interests that would keep you blushing for months. What matters is that they treated me, a real woman, and the women around them with genuine respect and can hold a casual conversation about the stuff we like as though I'm one of them because... at the end of the day, I am: I'm a fan of the media too.
