I really don't like to comment on my characters' hotness in the narrative--at least not the main character (Iyu will give his take on how attractive other people are, but his opinions are biased). I get annoyed with stories where I'm constantly being reminded of how hot the main character (who totally doesn't think (s)he's at all attractive!) and/or love interest is. It always falls flat to me and actually makes me find the character less appealing.
I prefer to let people imagine the characters however they would like, with just a few guiding principles given in the story itself.
That said, I've also intentionally designed the cultural aesthetics in my world to appeal to me. For example, volshebniks all have long (beautiful) hair (stolen wholesale from Confucianism, though I play more fast and loose with the hairstyles they're allowed to wear).
