So those are great questions. I'm personally not sure how much bots are effecting the low eCPM's Google is giving us.
The thing about opening up ad spaces to creators is we're trying to create an even playing field here for our indie creators to the best of our ability. So what that means is a kid from a rural village who somehow finds a way to make a great webcomic should be able to compete with Bill Gates on Tapas (if Bill Gates ever decided to make a webcomic).
If Bill Gates came in and started buying up all the ad space for his comic how does that effect rural village kid's great comic?
Does it seem right that Bill Gates gets to potentially buy success on Tapas when RVK just simply can't? It feels a little weird.
And as far as raising eCPM's go, we're working on it. We've JUST finished this integration that we've been working on for about a month. It's with a company called First Impression. On paper they seem pretty awesome so we're giving them a try. You guys should look em up if you're really interested in this type of stuff.
Anyway, we finished our integration with them like yesterday so highly optimized ads in MORE PLACEMENTS should be showing up soon on the web and mobile web. Usually their integrations are pretty fast but we had to figure out the whole attribution thing to make sure you guys were getting your fair share.
We'll probably be pushing First Impression stuff pretty hard in order to raise our eCPM's so you guys make sure to tell us how we're doing when you start to see more ads.
