Is it normal to get no subscribers even when posting daily?

I've been publishing my novel, Salvos, here to Tapas every day for 2 weeks, but have gotten 0 subscribers from it. The only subscribers I got was from self promoting here in the forums twice, which got me 6 subscribers. Otherwise, I haven't organically gained any subscribers at all.

I'm just wondering if this is normal, or if I've been posting at the wrong time of day. I've been posting pretty much in the morning PST, which I've been told was the best time to post.

@delta201 - I would say it's normal to get few subscribers when you start out -- I see your novel has only been live for a couple of weeks. The other thing I would say is to keep in mind the time of year. People have been busy with exams/the end of the semester, the holidays, and the end of the year. Just give it time, keep posting regularly, and your subscriber count will grow.

Honestly, it makes me want to just self promo more on the forum tho. It doesn't seem like posting daily has done anything for my subscriber count, because as I said, it hasn't. Only self promo has.

Another thing I'm beginning to consider is submitting my novel for premium. I have enough chapters for it, and I hear it helps earn revenue.

I post noon to evening PST, morning was always dead for me--but it really depends. I've also heard that you should occasionally change the time during the day when you post, so you can get new viewers in there. So...just move it around if it's not doing anything after a few weeks.

Totally normal.
Totally normal also to lose them.
Totally very absolutely and other adjectives for exaggeration normal for them to not give a shit when you update daily.

That is fine especially for people who are starting out.
Even established or popular series can have their period of stagnancy.

If you really want more subscriber, maybe you should try promoting your series more here or on another social media platforms. Twitter, Reddit, Discord, and Instagram are choices I often heard.

If you are expecting more activity from your current subscribers that could boost your algorithm, you can find out when they're more active.

Totally normal, ultimately frustrating but don't let it affect you, just keep working at it.

Ad revenue isn't going to generate much at all unless you have a super popular product that is getting a lot of views and even then, I'm not sure it would be enough to get excited about.
