It is a good idea to use irl references, but unfortunately you can't use them for everything unless you live in a big city where there's an abundance of options, and even then, I live in a big city and have had problems trying to get photos myself since a lot of people aren't too keen on letting a stranger take photos of their property.

Sometimes a 3D program is needed.

As for being friendly on the internet, I think more people should try to be. We have enough hate going on online, we don't need any more of it. Also I don't know how being male or female makes a difference in being friendly or not.

I don't think OP was upset about your tone because they didn't understand your joke; I think OP did successfully read it as playfully sarcastic but thing is, a lot of people don't take kindly to sarcasm Even if you were trying to be more playful than sarcastic, sarcasm is inherently passive-aggressive to some extent so if you're 'snarking at' OP rather than 'snarking with' them, it's not that surprising they'd take offense tbh
