Thank you so much for this!
Hi everyone!
I'm a first-time author here on Tapas and I just posted the first seven episodes of my story. I'm a little nervous but also so excited to finally share this — so here I am!
BEFORE THE LIGHT DECIDES
Genre: Drama / Romance / Slow Burn
This story is about two people who grew up loving each other before they had words for it.
Thea is the kind of person who holds everything together for everyone else. She's cheerful, dependable, always fine. Except she hasn't been fine in a long time — and she's gotten so good at hiding it that even the people who love her most are only just starting to notice.
Gab left four years ago without a word. He had his reasons. He spent those four years getting better, doing the work, becoming someone worth coming home to. Now he's back — steady, whole, and quietly determined to be worthy of everything she gave him.
What he didn't know was what the waiting had cost her.
A little teaser:
"I'm so tired of being okay. Of making it look like okay. Of everyone asking and me smiling and saying fine and meaning — I'm here. I'm upright. I haven't let anything collapse yet. That's not fine. That's just — standing."
This story is close to my heart because it touches on something I think a lot of us carry quietly — the kind of mental health struggle that doesn't announce itself. The kind that looks like a perfectly functioning person on the outside. I wrote it because I believe those stories deserve to be told with gentleness and honesty.
If you love:
Slow burn romance that takes its time
đź–¤ Characters with real emotional depth
Stories that handle mental health with care
That specific ache of loving someone through four years of silence
...then this might be the story for you. 🥹
7 episodes are up and I update regularly! I would absolutely love it if you gave it a read — and if it moves you even a little, a subscribe and a comment would mean the world to a nervous first-time author.
