Where are we now?

After witnessing his companion Yume being arrested by the Reikeitai, Kaito heads toward Yorigakure with a clear mission: to save her and recover his master’s second blade.

After escaping from Neriwa and his troops, he finds himself facing a choice he can no longer delay: remain true to his ideals, or ally with Rika and Lio—two criminals—to infiltrate the prison… or face everything alone.

But while he is still lost in his doubts, Enma—the warden of the prison—steps forward. Kaito is drawn into an unavoidable clash against him and his spirit, Orochi.

In this chapter, the battle reaches its most intense point, and the winner will be decided.

I’ve been a monster to her.
A wave of self-loathing hit him hard.
He had ignored her, bullied her, pushed her away, and used his fear as an excuse to be cruel. And despite all that, she had sat there, folding a piece of paper just so she wouldn't leave him empty-handed on his birthday.
Who in their right mind would do that for someone like Ye-Jun?
He gently traced the creased edges of the paper flower. She was real. She was vibrant, smart, and completely untainted by his world.
And that was exactly why she had to stay away.
His jaw clenched. His eyes might have looked vulnerable a minute ago, but now they were harsh. And cruel.
He pressed the stem of the origami tulip in his fingers. For a second, he wanted to crumble it. But he couldn't. Then, with a swift, decisive motion, he tossed it into the kitchen trash can, its lid shutting with force.
It means nothing. It can never mean anything.
The lights in the kitchen went off. Nothing could be heard in the whole apartment.
An hour later, the lights went back on. Ye-Jun rushed in and opened the trash can in a hurry.
He grabbed the origami tulip.
This would be the only piece of her he would allow himself to keep.

Hello everyone, I’m AlSanders, and I want to introduce you to my novel, The Shadow of Spirit, an action-fantasy story filled with battles, tension, and mystery.

Before diving into the latest chapter, here’s a quick recap.

After the Shinkase disaster, Yume, Kaito’s companion, was captured by the Reikeitai and taken to Yorigakure. Determined to save her at any cost, Kaito sets off without hesitation.

But as soon as he arrives, he clashes with Enma, the prison warden, and is defeated.

He survives only thanks to Rika and Lio, two criminals who choose to help him.

Even though he doesn’t fully trust them, Kaito agrees to work together. Their goal is clear: save Yume, free Rika’s brother, and recover Kaito’s blades, now in Enma’s hands.

Blades that seem to have a mysterious connection to the Reikeitai…
