Pike and Mindie are two students with the power of luminescence. The attend a unique university that trains people with their abilities to be Stars. These Stars deal with Shades--beings composed of pure chaotic energy that cause dangerous incidents around the world. But they gradually learn that dealing with these Shades isn't as straightforward as it seems. And life can't just revolve around the Stars when they've got homework to do too.
