Got a little Christmas present for yall. Here's some of the OG Knife Teeth comics that I made while I was pretty much workshopping the concept for the series. Most of these are non-canon and were a way for me to feel out the characters and such as well as practice my artwork.
This is the one that started it all. The very first Sadie Lurker/Knife Teeth comic I made. Back then I didn't know for sure exactly what Sadie 'was' I just new that she wasn't human and that she has massive social anxiety. Like a year or two later I made a remake of this comic and during that time I was seeing if I liked Sadie's design better if she had red hair. As you know I went back to black hair.
One thing I'm not a fan of with my old art is my character proportions. Sadie was meant to be a small woman, but she looks real off in the early art before I got more use to drawing her.
Back in those early one off comics I wasn't sure if I wanted Sadie to straight up use her teeth to kill the monsters she fights so I often drew her with a weapon in hand. Those of you know have read the comic know that I absolutely made up my mind in that regard.
This was the picture where I decided to hard commit to Sadie using her teeth as weapons.
This is a little comic I made to help me imagine how Sadie's and Cody's first meeting would go. In the actual comic series it went down a lot different, but you can probably see the similarities.
Here's a few comics of Sadie interacting with Cody and his sister Brooke. At the time of posting this here for yall Sadie and Brooke have not even properly met yet.
Here's a comic where I thought of the idea of Sadie being very protective of Cody. I won't say for now if she will or won't be like this in the real comic, but I thought this was funny. The other woman in this comic is Gwen and back then she was a lot more of a mean girl before I decided it would be a lot more funnier (and relatable to me) if she was a paranoid conspiricy theorist. I mentioned earlier I don't like my old art because I was bad at proportions and it really shows here. These characters are meant to be adults, but they look like kids.
