I only plug instagram because that has stuff I'm okay with showing rn. The rest of the portfolio (illustrations & character designs) has designs related to a huge comic i've been planning for 4-5 months now...started a mini one for practice that's updating twice a week tho. I think it'll take me like 5-7 more months until I can accumulate even 1 month's worth of this comic because there's a lot of preliminary designing and the quality and brevity of each chapter is a set a lot higher. After, that I will struggle my best to keep up 1 a week haha (for example my current comic takes ~5 hrs per page so ~10 hrs a week and the main comic est. average 1-2 hrs per panel for 30-40 panels a chapter so lots of time).

1. My name is Ducku or duck.
2. I've been on this site for maybe 2 weeks? Though I haven't visited much for most of that time because I was busy with school haha.
3. I write comics!! And novels too, but those are mostly for myself/ to get ideas for comics.
4. My favorite book right now is Mandarin Orange!! Because I really love the art style ahh.
5. My favorite food would probably be beef stew?? I don't really have one favorite because it changes so frequently. My favorite movie right now would probably be.... any ghibli movie tbh. I rewatched Akira again too and that movie is very dear to me.

photoshop, got it from school & studio...they will check on you to pay for it if you are making a good amount of money using their product. There are a lot of free or one-time payment software more centered towards digital painting like Krita and Clip Studio though. Photoshop would be stronger for photo-bashing in comics I guess. I also like their blending options for clipping mask and overall very high-end software. The comic I told you about will be in watercolor and inks...I think the medium can offer really nice graphics for the comic if I use it right.

photoshop will make you pay just to use their software? But, you're using it to blend your own images. How does that make sense?

Lol, I wouldn't have assumed that to begin with. I'm more used to fast pace threads anyway.

uh photoshop is monthly payment but most people get it cracked. Certain school computer labs with digital painting, animation, 3d modeling or video game courses which my high school introduced as I graduated will probably have bought a class package of photoshop for all computers

yh my entertainment design teacher told me they only crack down on it once you start making a good amount of money w/ it, like enough to pay for photoshop haha

I see. What other hobbies do you have?

hobbies? like art-wise? uh, comics and trying to get into digital commissions. Some traditional and digital painting but mainly just drawing. Main goal art-wise rn is to build a fan base.
non art-wise I guess exercising and cooking...trying to learn coding but only know html for now

only html for now, one of my main goals for comic is to have a website in conjunction with hosting platforms, can plug concept sketchbook, blogs, etc. Certain things I want is like interactive sketchbook and Patreon-locked content. Coding started out as me just wanting to pursue something academic that could make me smarter (like produce more neural passages) but saw its potential interaction with comics and went through html online course a month or two ago. I think I'd need to finish CSS and try to get good at javascript (for stuff like sketchbook) which my friend told me was hard but applicable in many ways and careers.

I like how you have all of this thought out. I want to put up my own site as well, but not any time soon. I want to build on my portfolio first and learn a little more about copyright. I did do a test run under wordpress for something else, but my html background mostly comes from wp forums.

ty ty, I am also trying to build up a portfolio rn on instagram because it'll be good place for both commissions (since the feed can act as a portfolio for customers with a commission sheet in the stories) and building a fan base (in conjunction w/ comic).
I think with a big enough fan base don't have to worry about copyright as much but I should definitely look into it as well.
Nice on learning coding, I think it's very important skill currently...I personally forgot like 60% of the tags and only remember some SEO optimizing techniques like header organization haha
