“How’d it go?” Ash asked, tapping the end of his stylus against his bottom lip. Coby had been out in the ocean with Gema training with his red energy since dawn, leaving Ash to stay home and work on his paper.
Coby groaned, flopping down face first on the bed. “She’s mean,” he whined, his voice muffled.
Ash grinned, snorting softly. “That’s what I’ve been telling you for weeks, sweet peach.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t know she’d be this mean.”
“She’s trying to help you with your red energy, love,” Ash said, rubbing the top of his husband’s head. “We both knew it wasn’t going to be easy.”
Coby groaned loudly into the mattress. “She’s mean!”
