He brought his gaze back to Ash, swallowing hard. âMy home was always meant to be with you, Ashley, no matter where that is to be. It could be here, it could be somewhere far out to sea, or even deep in the mountains. My people need me, yes, but I will not return to them.â
âBut your familyââ
âIs right here.â Coby trailed his fingers down the right side of Ashâs face, his expression softening. âYou are my family, Ashley. You are my everything and I love you. Iâm not leaving you. Not ever.â
Ash sighed, relaxing into Cobyâs touch. He caressed his young husbandâs cheek with the backs of his fingers, melting into his intense blue gaze. âTheyâre still your family, sweet peach,â he said softly. âRegardless of the circumstances, these are the people that raised you, loved you, supported and cared for you. Gema is your cousin, Co-Hanyana is your father, and that is never going to change. They deserve you in their lives, even after all of this.â
