Then the Aetherborn, ancient watchers who once shaped humanity as weapons, deemed the experiment a failure. The Halo shattered. The Reset turned Earth into a wasteland where tech decayed and magic bled through the seams.
Centuries later, blacksmith Gregor and purifier Lyra find a child in the ruins, a boy with one red eye, one violet, and a power that shouldn’t exist. They name him Victor and build a life worth protecting.
When slavers come, they lose everything but each other. From ash and grief, a family tempers itself like steel. Yet Victor’s awakening draws eyes older and darker than any raider.
