anything with action and interesting characters, but if i had to narrow it down to genre it's usually slice of life, action, adventure, sci-fi and fantasy, i'll only really look at mystery as opposed to full on horror or thriller (not a big fan of spooks)
i think a number of folks might have already caught on, but Sonic the hedgehog hands down. Started with the Archie Sonic comics (around issue 200 something) then picked up Universe and Boom and now the IDW comics. The last manga series I even got fully engrossed in was the Kagerou Daze series, based on the Kagerou Project songs by Jin (still wanna pick it back up but I know it'll mean starting from the beginning again if i do).
narrowing it down to just one is super hard but off the top of my head Ian Flynn, Evan Stanley, Leonardo Ito, Tyson Hesse, Jen Hernandez, Bracardi Curry, and probably like the whole rest of the folks who've worked on the sonic comics, Arina Tanemura was a big manga fave of mine back in the day and though I don't know who wrote or did the art work for the Kagepro manga I always really liked the way the effectively used black and white to convey mood and emotion (I'm always impressed by good use of b/w and color)
once again the Sonic comics, manga was among my earlier inspirations but the sonic comics (and the franchise in general) were where things took off from inspiring me to write to creating my own characters, worldbuilding and the like, heck even panelling. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone found that annoying but when I latched on i really latched on. I still remember the names of like all the ocs I'd made back in middle and high school as well as the majority of their story, which ironically was only loosely tied into the sonic universe since it had like none of the main cast. but if you're ever in need of random sonic factoids i'm somewhat useful (tho only the 'main' cannon not like...fleetway idk nothin about that one)
