I should have been more explicit- when I said it might be a good idea for everyone in the group to know what everyone else was doing, creator-wise, I thought it was clear that we read each other's stuff. So... implicit to the idea was that we would commit to reading and commenting. You know, like, actually engage with and support each other's efforts.
Obviously that becomes problematic if there are too many of us, because no one has that kind of time.
But yeah, I was proposing something a bit more involved than sub-for-sub. 
Anyway, like I said, consider the suggestion rescinded.
