Sorry, @ghostmaya, this isn't aimed specifically at you, but your comment did lead me onto a train of thought that I wanted add as a point here. Just letting you know ahead of time so you don't think I'm just singling you out lol
Honestly, an 8.30, or an 8.95 or even just an 8/10 isn't a bad rating. People often attribute anything lower than a 10 to being "imperfect" but as creators, that's a very dangerous way of thinking, for both your own sake as well as your comic.
Time Gate: Reaper (my own comic) has been sitting at around 7.95 for the past several months. It seems to be the average after the total number of votes, because even getting a high vote or a low vote doesn't budge it from 7.95 much. So I can safely say that to the general public, Time Gate: Reaper falls just at the edge of an 8/10.
And I can't say that isn't fair. Time Gate is black and white, longform, and fantasy. For a series that falls into the minority for what's popular these days (it's only got a small bit of romance, it's not BL, it's not a comedic gag a day, and it's a pseudo manga, so not vertical and not a "real" Korean webtoon). The plot can be dodgy at times (it's 10 books long and we're on book 1, there's a lot to set up and because of that, there are arcs that are kinda tough to get through because it's like 'lol what's happening i don't get it'), the art certainly isn't a masterpiece like in works like Fisheye Placebo (it only has like one color page per volume, outside of the cover). So I can say that 7.95 is a fair rating. Considering its style and genre, Time Gate is sorta niche and most people either like it or don't. And if they don't.... that affects the world how?
The ratings aren't supposed to be like some grinding system that you can just work up and up with time and updates. They're supposed to be an accurate representation of where your series stands. And I'm sorry, I know we treat our stories like our babies that should be cherished, but there's still a level of recognition and self-critique that has to be established on your own part, as a creator, if you want to ever improve. You can't just say "well my comic deserves to be 10/10 so i'm just gonna keep updating until i get there!" If your comic is averaged out at 8/10, then it's impossible to get to a perfect 10/10, because it would take 10/10 votes from every single person who reads your comic to get there. If you want to get even close to 10/10, you'd probably have to release literally perfect episodes one after the other to raise people's votes, or just redo your comic from the ground up (and even then, you still wouldn't get a perfect 10/10 because people's opinions are subjective).
But what's the point of that? Seriously, what do you get out of that? There are even Premium comics on Webtoons that don't have a perfect 10/10 rating. It's not some grinding game to be "won". It's way easier and saner to just come to terms with your rating and use it as a measurement of where you are so you can self-reflect and figure out how you can make it better from that point on. I mean, if it were that easy, everyone would be doing it - but it's a completely subjective thing that's impossible to achieve, so yeah, there's really no point in worrying about it.
