It's good that you're able to find an artist. Though, you don't need to be passive aggressive about it. And I don't even know if you should even name drop any artist, in this thread, that is willing to work with you for free. Nobody wants to be known for being "too naive" and never getting paid for future projects. What I would believe most artist's intention for volunteering in free work is that they want to see a project grow or just want to gain experience from said project. Name dropping them and saying "see, this person is willing to work for free" isn't good for any parties involved.

Just to add to the "people from Disney/Marvel are reading this comic", I don't think you know what that means. That is not a flex if you know how Disney's employees/contractors work, they have a history of stealing people's work. Unless you know who is reading your work specifically, I would suggest you watch your stuff closely because someone might not have your best interest in mind.

Yes, you're right that it came across as boastful with the artist in the thread thing. Yes, no one wants to be seen as naïve either, but you completely misread the point as "see this person is willing to work for free". Again, I was just more showing that this is a viable option (which this person doesn't seem to think it is) and more of a blessing than anything.

It was an uphill battle to get any of these projects going in the first place, being able to bond with people who've also struggled and being able to find community out of these artists who've suffered similar issues as me (PANDA White especially). What I don't get is why someone would drop a comment like that when the thing clearly says "Unpaid". I could ignore it sure, but it just felt targeted considering the fact that there's other Unpaid threads than mine and I was the only one he messaged that to (he seems to do a lot of collabs, so it felt a little insecure coming after mine like that).

It comes across as undermining. All of this does.

And then you coming in and saying "JUST TO ADD". Like you could've ended it at "any parties involved" and I'd just leave it at that, but then you just go on ahead and say "YOU KNOW THEY HAVE A HISTORY OF STEALING PEOPLE'S WORKS". Yeah, I know that buddy. You could've just assumed me knowing them well... That doesn't feel like you're giving me a heads-up, it feels like you took an opportunity to make me look bad further.

Diego underminded me through the pay thing and then being like "I hope you best on your project" and you giving that piece of knowledge not as advice, but you sorta just... trying to dismantle something that came across as a "boast".

And then the "Truly, I hope you best on your project" which doesn't come across as you hoping for anything, but more of an inconvenience like "Good luck buddy, you're going to need it".

I just came here to drop in the ad or not. I don't need people giving me shit for just ASKING for something y'know and I certanly wasn't making a fuss over me not getting any artists.

If I did like "WAAAAH NO ONE WANTS TO DRAW FOR ME YOU ALL SUCK!!! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!", then yes, Diego's comment would be valid... AND VERY PROFESSIONAL... but it just feels out of place, tone deaf, and very rude.

Usually why I get so defensive with you and Diego's comments is that it feels like a cross-examination about my personality. Like "Oh shit did I do something wrong" and like I should feel bad for my circumstances... which is why I brought all of that up.... which is why a ton of friends leave this site. I'm not going to apologize for something I did not do. I will not be removing my response just because you removed yours. I am not a liar or a coward and stand by my words. People can disagree with you, and you can disagree with people. Manipulating your response to make me look bad doesn't help you in the long run.

I literally said, "It's good that you're able to find an artist." That's not passive aggressive. I was congratulating you on finding someone and after that sentence, I spoke about what that artist might think if you act unprofessional towards others. It can also affect not just you but the people around you. Just because you only expressed "hatred" to several people don't mean the artist is immune to your treatment. You can hate me and personally I don't hate you or anyone on the Tapas forum. There are lots of people that probably doesn't want to talk to me and that's okay too.

Seriously though, I hope you succeed in your work. It's good that you are passionate about your work, and I'm not saying this to be passive aggressive. I truly think everyone has a chance in the life they want to live in. It's up to you to decide that for yourself.

Listen man, I'm not looking for you to grovel or an apology either (and I am thankful it isn't passive aggressive). I wasn't trying to manipulate my response. There seems to be a massive miscommunication. It's just man... listen, legit.. that autoimmune gives me horrible OCD to the point where I scheduled an appointment with a rehabiltation center this morning; so stuff like this doesn't happen so my spirit can also live peacefully with all this writing stuff. It makes me super combative. Which is why I removed mine, because a lot of the time you have some fourth party... then a fifth... then a sixth... (this has happened multiple times a year ago) coming in and giving their piece of mind and it's frustrating y'know? Luckily all my connections know about this but this is what sucks about texting, you can’t know a person's intentions. It's not fun especially with the likes where you can see a person's face. I'm sorry. Like legit man... sometimes my brain slips like this from time to time and it's frustrating. Sometimes you think you got everything handled and then shit like this can happen. People can disagree, the problem was me not ignoring a 4 day post.

If you think my advice was too obvious, guess it's a fair complain, but you can't argue with the results. Many collabs inside and outside of Tapas happen thanks to someone willing to compensate other people for their time in a common project.

Let me get this clear.....so you jumped into conclusions and jumped into accusing me of undermining you because your imaginary version of me didn't sound "nice enough"?......

I never assumed you were one of those people that "pay in exposure" or other mumbo jumbo, which is why i don't see my post as any form of undermining

Also never implied that you specifically would struggle to get people for free, just that it's harder to coordinate skilled people around the world without compensation for their time.

My brain has these freakouts when it gets inflamed. And been trying to keep it underwraps but apparently there's just moments where they happen even if my brain feels calm.

But here's the issue, it's not embarrassing myself and it's difficult with OCD to take an internet break when it looks like there's a bad reputation thing going on. A lot of the people here and it's really frustrating. Y'know you do something bad on the forums you have to explain yourself and shit or you'll get a bad look in the forums.

You admitted your mistake and apologised, that's an important step. That being said, to avoid future unnecessary altercations with people you gotta understand that the world doesn't revolve around you and you are not the only one with struggles. Your medical condition doesn't give you the right to mistreat people, being a victim of certain circumstances doesn't give you the right to be an agresor against an unrelated person.

Really? Gosh, I can't remember what I did but I had my reasons probably back then, dunno. But the last time I remember and was vocal about you was a few weeks ago when you tried to exploit the GL genre for your own selfish reasons instead of working on a project that was genuine for the love of that genre.

But that's not a good sign if I live rent free in your head. Just because one person is critical about you doesn't mean that you have to get all cranky about it. If you want to look professional in the eyes of others, you have to play it chill and easy going.

Also while were at it, you whole "pitch" is just... errmmm, "self centered" (I had another wording for it but I could get in trouble for saying it out loud) instead of focusing on the important part. Nobody cares about numbers, they want to know exactly what they want to work on if it's for free. Just nighttime segments is to loose for a description pal.

First-off, my friend's been doing GL stuff/writer and she's been talking me about doing GL stuff. She oversees the scripts and comes up with all these plotlines because she's insistent on it.
