About me:
Hello, I'm Kittie (not my actual name), and I'm a queer artist and writer who currently creates just for the fun of it. I haven't made any proper comics yet, but I've been planning several for quite some time now and studying the art of comic making. I'm still a student, and I struggle with motivation quite a bit, so I'm hoping whoever wants to help out is willing to pull me back in if I start to move on. And, since I'm a student, my work schedule will be a bit iffy, and I might be able to work a lot more some weeks than others. Oh, and I live in the UK. I think that's mostly everything you need to know about me, so I'll move on to the actual important stuff lol
About the comic:
The comic (or graphic novel) will follow the life of a werewolf named Rowan. In this world, werewolves, vampires, and the like have mutated into existence quite recently and haven't fully been accepted into society. Rowan's life suddenly gets a lot more complicated when he accidentally attacks a woman on the full moon and is taken into custody for assault charges. Luckily for him, a caretaker from the MRR Program (Monster Rehabilitation and Reintegration Program) takes him in and sheilds him from the years of prison that were surely to follow. After that point, it's going to be more of a slice of life with some drama and romance, since making the focus be solely on romance doesn't sit right with me when the worldbuilding of werewolves and vampires can add so much nuance and drama. It will also have quite a bit of self-discovery and coming to terms with identity, since I want Rowan to struggle with his werewolf side quite a bit. The main cast will consist of the 4 werewolves and one vampire (the caretaker), and they will also be the main relationship. There will also be a few recurring side characters, but I haven't really thought about them much.
Important note: I want the comic to explore some deeper themes like: loss, grief, self-worth, substance abuse, mental illness, and other things like that. These may or may not change depending on how we decide to take my current ideas and develop them, because I don't have the whole thing fully planned out.
Will this be paid?
Maybe? I don't have the money to pay upfront, but if we manage to monetise the comic, it will be rev share. The percentages will be discussed after we get monetised, since our team may change, and I don't want to make promises I can't hold up on.
Who I'm looking for:
Since I'm pretty good at writing (hopefully lol), I'll be doing that along with the main linework and character design. I will need someone who can do backgrounds and colour since I'm not the best at backgrounds and colouring takes a lot of time. But if you think you can help out regardless of what I'm looking for, please do message me! We might be able to work something out.
Schedule and software:
There won't really be a schedule we'll need to work by, but I do want to get at least 4 pages out per month. There also isn't any software we need to use, but I do want us to be able to export the layers and share them easily.
